Review:
Untitled Goose Game & Thank Goodness You’re Here! Bundle, released on Nintendo Switch in 2024, is a Compilation containing a the two named games.
I have separately reviewed these games. Here is what I thought of both of the games in this collection:
| Game | Genre | # of Players | Score |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thank Goodness You’re Here! | Graphic Adventure | 1 | A- |
tl;drThank Goodness You’re Here! is a Graphic Adventure where players take the role of a quiet, diminutive salesman wandering around an absurd British town, helping the locals with their silly problems. This game is absolutely full of great humor, it’s wildly creative, and it manages to keep surprising you as you play it. It’s a bit too easy to get lost or not know where you need to go next, but this game’s wonderful humor and adorable charm far outweigh any issues it has. If you’re looking for a great comedy game, this is a must-play. | |||
| Untitled Goose Game | Stealth / Puzzle | 1-2 Co-Op (Local) | B+ |
tl;drUntitled Goose Game is an odd combination of Stealth/Puzzle/Sandbox that delivers on its promise of making you a terrible goose who loves making people miserable. The game has a few issues with its controls, but on the whole it’s an all-around enjoyable experience | |||
Both of these games feature puzzle solving in a decent-sized contemporary environment with a significant focus on humor, but both games go about this quite differently. I really liked Untitled Goose Game, but I also thought it was overrated (I even awarded it Most Overrated in The eShopperReviews 2019 Game Awards). But between the two, I think that Thank Goodness You’re Here is the real star, with absolutely fantastic humor throughout. But make no mistake, both games are well worth getting.
Are they worth getting in this bundle, though? Well, separately both games sell for $20 each, and together in this bundle they sell for just under $40. So… no, not really any savings here (well, okay, technically you’ll save $0.09). And while I cannot predict future sales, at launch this bundle had a sale price of $36, which is less of a discount than we’ve seen from Untitled Goose Game on its own. In other words, this is not a great deal.
It’s a shame that poor value is the undoing of this bundle, because both of the included games are great. However, the plain and simple fact is that at best the Untitled Goose Game & Thank Goodness You’re Here! Bundle will only save you nine cents, and at worst it will cost you an extra $13. Given this, I think you’re probably better off just getting the two games separately.
tl;dr – Untitled Goose Game & Thank Goodness You’re Here! Bundle is a Compilation containing the two named games, both excellent and hilarious games well worth getting… but not in this bundle. As a bundle, this pair represents a terrible value and you’re probably better off just getting the games separately on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
