Review:

Cirrus Business, released in 2024 on PC and Nintendo Switch, is a family-friendly “Farming Sim”-style Management Simulation and Action-RPG where players take the role of Cloudi, a sentient cloud, who must help grow magical ingredients and turn them into potions to help the anthropomorphic animal inhabitants of a small community and fend off an invading horde of slime monsters.

The presentation in Cirrus Business is minimalist, using simple, colorful 2D visuals largely consisting of blotches of color in a manner similar to a simple children’s book, backed by some low-quality low-energy synthesized piano music. Perhaps this might appeal to very young kids, but to everyone else it’s likely to seem far too juvenile.

Unfortunately, the gameplay seems like it’s going to be a bit too complicated for the very young kids that this game might appeal to, requiring player to sort through menus and remember how to use various buttons to perform multiple-step tasks. And pretty much everyone is going to absolutely hate how slow-paced this game is.

Your character movement is slow, the tutorial is slow, the process of growing plants is slow, your character doesn’t recharge their different abilities when you sleep/save so you have to slowly plod down to the river where various fruits slowly drift to you to slowly refill your three meters. Not even five minutes into this game, I was already bored out of my mind and wanting to be done with it forever.

Some younger players may find Cirrus Business to be charming, but everyone else will surely see it as a horrendously boring slog with a too-simple, cutesy presentation that’s all saccharine, no substance. If you want a quality, well-crafted “Farming Sim”, get Stardew Valley, Fae Farm, or Rune Factory 4 Special. If you want something simple and easygoing for all ages, get Farm Together. But absolutely do not get this game.

tl;dr – Cirrus Business is a “Farming Sim”-style Management Simulation and Action-RPG. Unfortunately, its juvenile presentation will likely drive away older players, its unnecessarily-complex controls will drive away younger players, and its maddeningly slow pacing will drive away everyone. You have numerous great alternatives for Farming Sim-style games on Nintendo Switch, play one of those instead.
