Review:

Gris + Neva Bundle, released on Nintendo Switch in 2024, is a Compilation containing the two named games, a Platformer and Action-Platformer released separately on Nintendo Switch in 2018 and 2024, respectively.

I have separately reviewed these games. Here is what I thought of each of the games in this collection:

GameGenre# of PlayersScore
GrisAction-Platformer1A
tl;drGris is a puzzle-platformer that seeks not to challenge the player, but guide them through an emotional journey of absolutely beautiful sights and sounds, looking into the soul of a young girl working through a dark time in her life. Don’t play this game if you want a great game, play it if you want an absolutely captivating experience.
NevaAction-Platformer1A
tl;drNeva is a stunning Action-Platformer about a woman and her adopted white wolf cub fighting off an evil corruption. The gameplay here is good, and more substantial than this developer’s previous work, Gris. But the focus here is still on the absolutely beautiful presentation. In any case, this is a stunning game that is absolutely not to be missed.

It’s hard to find a one-two punch of a bundle that is so absolutely filled with quality as this is. These are two absolutely gorgeous games, and while Gris is light on the gameplay, Neva makes up for that somewhat with engaging combat and Platforming. But make no mistake – both games are truly incredible.

Okay, so that just brings us to the question of value, and if we look at the standard prices for the games and bundle, this bundle fares pretty well, with its $30 price tag shaving $7 off the price of buying the two games separately. Unfortunately, the sale prices of these games don’t quite have the same value, as the two games can separately be purchased on sale for under $20, while the bundle has thus far only dropped to $24.

In other words, this bundle is only worth getting if you’re not planning on waiting for a sale. If that’s the case, then certainly, you should pick this up – both games are outstanding, and the standard pricing is better here. However, if you’re looking to save money and can wait for a sale, the separate releases are still, as of this writing, the best way to go.

tl;dr – Gris + Neva Bundle is a Compilation of the two named games, a Platformer and Action-Platformer that are both incredible must-have audiovisual experiences. This bundle is a decent deal if you’re not going to wait for a sale, too… but if you can wait, then just get the games separately, as their sale prices are better than this package’s sale price.
