Review:

Coin Rush is a behind-the-character Auto-Runner released in 2024 on Nintendo Switch. This game has players controlling a coin as it rolls through an obstacle course, trying to collect other coins while avoiding obstacles.

The presentation in this game uses pretty simple-looking 3D geometric objects with very little texturing, backed by extremely repetitive music that sounds like elevator music. I suppose it gets the job done, but it’s absolutely nothing interesting.

As for the gameplay, this really is just moving left and right, and that’s it. To the game’s credit, it does try to shake things up by having different obstacles to evade, but there’s nothing interesting or original here, and the simple gameplay makes things repetitive very quickly.

This is going to be a short review, because there just isn’t much else to say about Coin Rush. It more or less does what it needs to for a reasonably competent Auto-Runner, and absolutely nothing more. I suppose for only $5, you won’t be terribly disappointed in this game, but neither will you find it a worthwhile or memorable purchase. You have more interesting options to choose from in this genre, and certainly options with more engaging, varied gameplay.

tl;dr – Coin Rush is a behind-the-character Auto-Runner, and it is a competent but simple and repetitive entry in the genre that doesn’t have any major flaws, but it also does nothing interesting or exceptional. Players looking for an Auto-Runner on Nintendo Switch have better alternatives than this.

This looks like one of those mobile games I always see ads for on YouTube. It sounds just about as enjoyable as I would expect it to be.
