Review:

Bridge Race is an Arcade-style game released on iOS in 2020, ported to Android in 2021, and then ported to Nintendo Switch in 2024. In this game, players control a blue stick figure person collecting blue blocks to fill out a bridge to an exit, trying to get there before other-colored characters trying to do the same on their own paths.

The presentation here is simple and looks like countless other mobile games with colorful 3D stick figures on simple 3D backgrounds, which is odd because this game has some really nasty loading times given how simple and basic it all looks. Joining these visuals is an extremely repetitive whimsical music track that will have you reaching for the mute button soon enough.

The core gameplay here is decent enough, with you and three other computer-controlled characters competing to collect your color of bricks to build your path. Unfortunately, your opponents are absolutely no match for you, and you’ll easily outpace them time and again. So while the core concept here has potential, you’ll quickly grow bored of the complete lack of challenge. And while there are bonus levels to add variety… well, what’s the point?

All of this could be addressed if the game had some sort of expanded multiplayer mode that built on the gameplay in the main campaign. Alas, no such mode exists here.

It’s a shame, because Bridge Race really feels like it has the potential to be a lot of fun, but that potential is killed by pushover AI opponents, a lack of multiplayer, frequent load times, and a bland presentation with incredibly annoying music. Oh, I suppose I should add, my game froze at one point too. Yeah, don’t buy this.

tl;dr – Bridge Race is an Arcade-style game where players compete against AI-controlled opponents to collect bricks of the same color to build out a path to the exit. Unfortunately, the AI opponents are absolute pushovers, there’s no multiplayer, the load times are terrible, and the presentation ranges from bland to incredibly annoying. Don’t waste time or money on this game.
