Star Wars: Bounty Hunter & Republic Commando Bundle is a Compilation of the two named games that originally released over 20 years ago which were more recently remastered and released individually on Nintendo Switch in 2024 and 2021, respectively, with this bundle releasing on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in 2024.
I have separately reviewed these games. Here is what I thought of each of the games in this collection:
| Game | Genre | # of Players | Score |
|---|---|---|---|
| Star Wars: Bounty Hunter | Third-Person Shooter | 1 | C- |
tl;drStar Wars: Bounty Hunter is a Third-Person Shooter set between the events of Star Wars Episode I and Episode II, starring the bounty hunter Jango Fett. It was a serviceable but sub-par entry in the franchise back when it was first released nearly 25 years ago, and this remaster doesn’t change that. As Star Wars games go, you could do worse, but you could also do much, much better. | |||
| Star Wars: Republic Commando | First-Person Shooter | 1 | C+ |
tl;drStar Wars: Republic Commando is still a decent First-Person Shooter even 15 years after its original release, but not an especially noteworthy one. While the game has aged reasonably well, it doesn’t do anything all that noteworthy for the genre. It’s still a decent entry in the genre, but without its license there wouldn’t be much here to recommend it over other more modern First-Person Shooters. | |||
In short, this is a pair of “okay” but not great First- and Third-Person Shooters, both set during the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Between the two, I think Republic Commando is the better game, but I don’t really think either of these games is especially great.
Still, perhaps you’re a Star Wars fan looking to relive a few classic action games in the franchise, wondering if this is a good deal. Well, if you bought both of these games separately at their normal price they would cost you $35 compared to this bundle’s $30… however, if you’re looking at sale prices it’s a bit more muddled, as they fluctuate and sometimes the bundle is a better price while sometimes getting the individual games separately is better.
However, overall I can’t see much reason to get Star Wars: Bounty Hunter & Republic Commando Bundle. Neither of the included games is especially great, and if you’re truly a dedicated collector you’re probably looking at one of the more comprehensive bundles, if you don’t already own the games. In either case, I don’t give this bundle a strong recommendation.
tl;dr – Star Wars: Bounty Hunter & Republic Commando Bundle is a Compilation of the two named games, Third- and First-Person Shooters set during the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Neither of these games is terrible, but neither is especially great either, and you’re not getting a huge savings buying these games together in a bundle anyway. Because of this, I don’t really recommend this bundle.
