Review:
Bundle: Monster Dynamite + Ultimate Runner, released on Nintendo Switch in 2025, is a Compilation containing the two named games, previously released on Nintendo Switch in 2019 and 2018, respectively.
I have separately reviewed these games. Here is what I thought of each of the games in this collection:
| Game | Genre | # of Players | Score |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monster Dynamite | Puzzle | 1 | D+ |
tl;drMonster Dynamite is a physics-based Puzzle game that has players placing and detonating bombs to try to knock monsters off of platforms while keeping benign creatures in place. The gameplay here is very similar to the Angry Birds games, and this game’s gameplay doesn’t add much to that formula, and in fact makes things worse with a sub-par presentation and bad level design, all with an absurdly high price tag. Skip this. | |||
| Ultimate Runner | Auto-Runner | 1 | D |
tl;drUltimate Runner is a behind-the-character Auto-Runner where players control a character running from cannibals trying to cook them for dinner. Apart from the dated racism and an absolutely insulting $20 price tag, this game has nothing to offer that you can’t get in countless other Auto-Runners. Skip it. | |||
In short, neither of these games are very good. Both are unoriginal, and in their own ways do their own respective style of games in a sub-par way. Yet each of these two games is separately priced at $20, which is absurd to the point of being insulting given that these feel like cheap knockoff mobile games.
Okay, but this is a bundle, so maybe these games can find added value with a nice bundle price? You might think so, but no. At $35, this only cuts $5 off the combined prices of the two games, still insultingly overpriced given what’s on offer here. Even the sale price of $14 is 7-8 times more than I would actually think these games are worth.
So in the end, I’ll just say: don’t buy Bundle: Monster Dynamite + Ultimate Runner. Don’t buy these games separately, don’t buy them as a bundle, don’t buy them normally or on sale. These are mediocre games priced far, far higher than they’re worth. Don’t waste your money on this.
tl;dr – Bundle: Monster Dynamite + Ultimate Runner is a Compilation containing the two named games, both mediocre games that seem a lot like mobile games, but are priced far, far higher than they’re worth, and even the bundle pricing here doesn’t change that fact. Do not buy this.
