Food Truck Tycoons – 2 in 1 Bundle, released on Nintendo Switch in 2022, is a Compilation two Arcade-style games with a food service theme, previously released on Nintendo Switch in 2019 and 2020.

I have separately reviewed these games. Here is what I thought of each of the games in this collection:

GameGenre# of PlayersScore
Food Truck TycoonArcade1C+
tl;drFood Truck Tycoon is an Arcade-style game that doesn’t play much like Overcooked or Cooking Mama. It’s more like a food version of Simon Says, where players respond to orders by selecting the correct ingredients. The gameplay is decent, but this game lacks the variety and options of Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! If you’re looking for an Arcade-style food prep game, I recommend you get that one instead.
Food Truck Tycoon – Asian CuisineArcade1C+
tl;drFood Truck Tycoon: Asian Cuisine is an Arcade-style game that has players taking orders and prepping food before customers lose patience. This is a pretty typical “restaurant tycoon”-style game (without Simulation elements) that does this genre well enough, but doesn’t have much in the way of variety or options.

In short, I think both of these games are enjoyable, but lack variety and multiplayer. This is pretty much exactly what you expect from so-called restaurant “tycoon” games (specifically the sort that aren’t actually Management Simulation games). Nothing special, but a decent time-waster.

One of the reasons I graded these games as high as I did was that they’re all fairly inexpensive – at $5, it’s easier to forgive lacking content and features. So that leads us to the question of whether this bundle continues that trend of value. Well, at $9, you’re only saving one buck off the price of getting both games separately, which certainly isn’t anything to write home about. Thankfully, the sale price is an even better deal – hitting the rock-bottom $2 price tag, making this basically “buy one, get one free”, a much better deal.

Having said, it bears mention that Cooking Arena – 10 in 1 Edition includes both of these games plus eight more, and sells for $7.50, and its sale price is $3.50, just a little more than this bundle’s best price. This kinda’ changes the perspective on Food Truck Tycoons – 2 in 1 Bundle – in a vacuum, this is an okay deal, but it’s hard to recommend anyone get this bundle when Cooking Arena – 10 in 1 Edition offers far, far better value for money.

Ultimately, I think Food Truck Tycoons – 2 in 1 Bundle is, just that – an okay-ish bundle that offers two decent (but not great) games, but it’s a bundle that’s been made obsolete by a better one. If you’re considering getting this Compilation, you probably want to get Cooking Arena – 10 in 1 Edition instead.

tl;dr – Food Truck Tycoons – 2 in 1 Bundle contains two Arcade-style games in the “restaurant tycoon” style (without Simulation elements). Both games are decent but not great, and this package is a decent but not great value. Unfortunately for this package, Cooking Arena – 10 in 1 Edition offers a much better value, and if you want the games in this bundle you’re better off getting that bundle instead.
