Review:
2 in 1: Trash Punk & Urban Flow, released on Nintendo Switch in 2024, is a Compilation containing the two named games, previously released on Nintendo Switch in 2023 and 2020, respectively.
I have separately reviewed these games. Here is what I thought of each of the games in this collection:
| Game | Genre | # of Players | Score |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trash Punk | 2-Stick Shooter | 1-2 Co-Op (Local) | C |
tl;drTrash Punk is a 2-Stick Shooter where players take the role of an armed anthropomorphic opossum, and while the core gameplay here is good, this game does nothing of note to build on that, making for a tedious, repetitive gameplay experience that can’t compete with the wealth of other great games in the genre on Nintendo Switch. | |||
| Urban Flow | Arcade / Party Game | 1-4 Co-Op (Local) | C+ |
tl;drUrban Flow is a game that has one to four players controlling traffic by turning on and off traffic lights. This is a decent simple game with a lot of potential for hectic hijinks, and while there are areas it could have done with some improvement, overall this is a game well worth trying if that sounds interesting to you. | |||
In short, these are two very different games, although I don’t think either of these games is truly great. The better of the two is probably Urban Flow, which has some nice multiplayer potential and hectic gameplay that may appeal to some players, though some frustrating game elements keep this from being a better game than it is.
Okay, but this is a bundle, so how does that affect the value? Well, at $20, this will save you $5 off the cost of getting both of these games separately. And since the sale prices for both games and the bundle are all $2, you’re much better off getting the bundle when there’s a sale, since that’s basically “buy one get one free”, a deal good enough that you should get this even if you only want one of these two games… at least, unless one of the other bundles these games are in is paired with another game you want more (and you should check, since there’s a bunch).
In the end, I don’t think this is a bundle to get excited about, but it’s not exactly bad either. If you know you want one or both of these games, it’s better than getting the games on their own. Just be aware that one of these games is too repetitive, and the other one is kinda’ hit or miss.
tl;dr – 2 in 1: Trash Punk & Urban Flow is a Compilation containing the two named games, both different types of games, but I don’t think either of them is especially great. Still, if you’re looking to get either one of these games, this bundle is better than getting either game individually. Just keep your expectations low if you do.
Grade: C+
