Nintendo just released two more games on their Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack’s Game Boy Advance app. Let’s have a look!

I have previously reviewed these games in their Wii U Virtual Console release, and my opinion hasn’t changed – Klonoa: Empire of Dreams is a wonderful handheld take on the brilliant console Platformers that may be something of a hidden gem on Game Boy Advance, and Mr. Driller 2 is… well, not as good as later entries in the series, though it is slightly better than the Wii U Virtual Console versions simply due to the support for the original game’s multiplayer mode.
Overall, this is a surprising release on the Game Boy Advance app, and an extremely welcome one, even if I mostly say that just because of Klonoa. And this also gives me hope that we may eventually see Klonoa 2 release on the Game Boy Advance app, because that game is arguably even better!
tl;dr – The Game Boy Advance app gets two games, Klonoa: Empire of Dreams and Mr. Driller 2. Of the two games, I think Klonoa is by far the better one, being a truly excellent Platformer. Mr. Driller has its charms too, though it hasn’t aged quite as well. Still, this is all-around a great month for the app.
