Before starting, I want to point out that this case is similar to the TanReginal Hard Carrying Case and Waxity Travel Case, and as such I will be copying much of what I wrote in that review here, changing it where appropriate and addressing the differences the two have.
The Diocall Waterproof Hard Case is a large-sized carrying case for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, and the new record-holder for largest carrying case I’ve encountered for a Nintendo handheld, beating out the TanReginal Hard Carrying Case by a fair margin. It boasts being able to store and transport a Nintendo Switch 2 with attached Joy-Cons, a standard Nintendo Switch 2 Dock, an AC Adapter, two Pro Controllers, a Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip (including attached Joy-Con 2 controllers), a pair of Joy-Con straps, a small carrying case for up to 16 Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 games and up to 16 MicroSD cards (included with the case), and extra room for a few additional cables or small accessories.
I should note that unlike the earlier cases I mentioned, this case is not intended for use with the original Nintendo Switch. However, out of curiosity I tested it with the Nintendo Switch and its accessories as well.
So, how does the actual case shape up?

Compared to even the biggest, heaviest cases I have encountered, Diocall’s case is significantly bulkier and heavier. If you’re being mindful of size and weight of luggage with travelling with your Nintendo Switch 2, you’ll definitely want to strongly contemplate whether these are things you’re willing to compromise on before buying this case. That said, it is also perhaps the strongest case I have encountered, and the one that can hold the most accessories.

Opening up the case using the two dual-hinged clasps on either side (which require a button-press to unlatch), and opening its seemingly-strong multi-hinged lid, you’ll find that the inside is a custom-cut foam to store everything in, which is removable from the case if you ever want to do so. And I’ll say right away that this case does indeed store everything I mentioned above in the opening paragraph.
Some of the items here do poke out of the foam on the bottom quite a bit, especially the blue and pink straps for the Joy-Con 2 controllers, the Joy-Con 2 Grip, and the Nintendo Switch 2 itself. However, this isn’t a bad thing – the foam padding on the lid ensures that everything remains snugly housed in the case without jostling around too much, and the case itself is hard and thick enough that I believe the risk of damage is fairly minimal unless you’re trying to wreck the thing. What’s more, the way things poke out of the bottom half of the case makes them easier to pull out.

The original Nintendo Switch and its accessories technically fit here too, but we can see why this case isn’t intended for use with the original Nintendo Switch. In order to fit, the space for the console forces the analog sticks on the Joy-Con controllers to either side, and I worry that if you transported the original Nintendo Switch in this way, you could potentially damage your Joy-Con controllers.
This is fine, since this case is, once again, not meant for the original Nintendo Switch, but it’s worth mentioning not only because some people are sure to try it, but because both of the other cases I mentioned above do work with the original Nintendo Switch. At the very least, the original Nintendo Switch accessories seem to fit just fine, which is good since some players will want to use those with their Nintendo Switch 2.
Also, for lack of a better place to put this, I should note that while this case has “waterproof” in the title, the descriptions in the Amazon page seem to go back and forth between describing this as “waterproof” and “water-resistant”. This makes me a bit dubious of this claim, but I’m not inclined to test it by submerging this case underwater. If you’re looking for that sort of analysis, I’m sorry to say I’m not the right reviewer for you.

I’ll take a moment to mention the included game cartridge carrying case too. Each of the sixteen slots in the case can hold one MicroSD card (or more likely, MicroSD Express, the type of card Nintendo Switch 2 requires) in addition to one Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 game cartridge (both are the same size and shape, and both work in Nintendo Switch 2), with the case clasping using a magnetic mechanism. I’ve encountered numerous similar cases separately before, and all work just fine in my experience, and take up minimal room for the amount of game cartridges they hold.

So with everything considered, how do I feel this compares to the other cases I named? Well, if size and weight is not a consideration, and if you’re not looking to transport the original Nintendo Switch, this is going to offer you what seems like it may be the toughest case out of all of these, with the most storage compartments of all of them.
That said, those are a lot of considerations to shelve. You may not be looking to transport the original Nintendo Switch, but all that extra bulk is going to make this far less convenient, especially compared to the Waxity travel case. What’s more, it still has some other issues. Even with all the space and difference compartments here, there’s still no good storage solution here for smaller components, such as what you might get be including a zippered mesh pocket. Users looking to bring around such smaller components may find themselves using one of the compartments in this case by dropping in a Ziploc baggie or something, which isn’t a very elegant solution, but it should still work.
Okay, so all of that said, do I think the Diocall Waterproof Hard Case is a bad Nintendo Switch 2 case? Absolutely not. Is this a case I would consider the best large-size Nintendo Switch 2 storage case? No, for that I would much prefer the more compact and versatile Waxity Travel Case, at least as of this writing. However, I do think the Diocall Waterproof fits a specific niche for those who specifically want maximum Nintendo Switch 2 storage regardless of what it takes to achieve that. If that sounds like you, this case may be worth looking into.
tl;dr – The Diocall Waterproof Hard Case is a large-size storage case for Nintendo Switch 2 that is as of this writing the biggest, bulkiest storage case for Nintendo Switch 2. This fact, plus a lack of versatility when it comes to storage for smaller items and the original Nintendo Switch, means that this won’t be the ideal case for everyone. But if you’re looking for a Nintendo Switch 2 case with maximum storage, this may be worth a look.
