Note: This same product is also sold by the brand Dobe Fomis under the name Console Grip TNS-3179. GaneTronic’s grip even still has Dobe Fomis’ branding on it.

Released in 2025, this Nintendo Switch 2 Grip from GaneTronic (and no, that’s not a typo) takes a fairly minimalist approach to adding a grip to the Nintendo Switch 2, reminiscent of Satisfye’s ZenGrip series of grips for the original Nintendo Switch. Its build is similar, just adding a pair of grips to either side of the Nintendo Switch connected by a horizontal bar in the back, with slots for storing game cards in the back and a pair of notches to act as a stand for the unit when played in tabletop mode.

While my own experience with the ZenGrip line is somewhat mixed, this series has nevertheless become really popular, so let’s see if GaneTronic’s Nintendo Switch 2 grip has similar potential.

The unit is a single solid piece of plastic with a bit of rubber to ensure a snug grip while still leaving it easy to add and remove. This is a good thing too, since the design of the grip means you’ll need to do so – you have to remove this grip if you want to detach the Joy-Con 2 controllers, and the stand on the bottom blocks the Nintendo Switch 2 dock meaning you’ll need to remove this grip to dock the system as well.

This makes it all the more curious that the stand was even added to this grip, as it leaves the Nintendo Switch 2’s own kickstand completely unobstructed, and you can still use the kickstand just fine with this grip.

While GaneTronic’s grip doesn’t look like much, I was surprised to find it genuinely did make the Nintendo Switch 2 more comfortable to hold, something I felt was lacking in Satisfye’s similar Nintendo Switch grip. It fits in my hands nicely, with my thumbs still able to easily access all the Nintendo Switch 2’s buttons and thumbsticks. As this is the grip’s primary function, I have to say this counts as a success.

On the back, we can see the spaces where there are five storage slots for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 game cartridges (they’re both the same size, and both kinds work on Nintendo Switch 2). These fit snugly, but are easy enough to retrieve.

In the end, I like the GaneTronic Hand Grip much better than the Satisfye ZenGrip, because it actually succeeds at its primary function – it offers a comfortable grip that fits the hands much better than the Nintendo Switch 2 does on its own. And it does have a few extra nice features here as well. However, it’s still far from ideal, requiring users to detach the grip to remove the Joy-Con 2 controllers or dock your Nintendo Switch 2. If it weren’t for these flaws, this grip would be pretty ideal. As-is, this is still a very good grip for your Nintendo Switch 2.

tl;dr – The GaneTronic Hand Grip is a Grip for Nintendo Switch 2 that succeeds in making the Nintendo Switch 2 more comfortable to hold, and it has a few other nice features too. Unfortunately, it’s not dockable, and it restricts players from removing Joy-Con controllers. However, if you’re looking for a inexpensive, minimal Grip for your Nintendo Switch 2, this is a good choice.
