The Fintie Storage Case is a large-sized carrying case for Nintendo Switch 2, one of the larger such cases I’ve personally encountered for a Nintendo handheld, though it is a fair amount smaller than the current record-setter, the Diocall Waterproof Hard Case. It boasts being able to store and transport a Nintendo Switch 2 with attached Joy-Cons, a standard Nintendo Switch 2 Dock, an AC Adapter, a Pro Controller, a Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip (including attached Joy-Con 2 controllers), a pair of Joy-Con straps, 24 Nintendo Switch 2 Game Cartridges, and additional cords and accessories in its mesh zippered pouch.

Yes, after all this time of me complaining in other reviews of large Nintendo Switch 2 cases, I’m finally reviewing one with a zippered pouch! Will it make the difference to push this case to being my favorite? Read on to find out…

The exterior of this case is made of a firm EVA fabric-like material, which should keep its contents relatively safe from impacts and spills. It’s not anywhere near as hard and firm as the hard plastic ABS material some of the other large cases are made with, but I think that this should still be sufficient for most Nintendo Switch owners dealing with bumping and jostling in a trunk or with other luggage on a plane.

The case includes a rubbery handle, as well as a fabric carrying strap that attaches to clasps on either side.

Opening up the case using a pair of zippers, we see the zippered mesh compartment lining the lid, and underneath it a soft fabric flap with slots for 24 Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 games (both are the same size). Both of these are pretty standard as these things go, yet oddly uncommon for cases of this size.

Lifting up the flap reveals that the inside of the case has removable custom-cut foam to store everything in. And I’ll say right away that this case does indeed store everything I mentioned above in the opening paragraph.

Some of the items here do poke out of the foam on the bottom a bit, especially the blue and pink straps for the Joy-Con 2 controllers, the Joy-Con 2 Grip, and the Nintendo Switch 2 itself. However, there’s just enough space here to ensure that everything fits while remaining snugly housed in the case without jostling around too much, and the case itself is hard and thick enough that I believe the risk of damage is fairly minimal unless you’re trying to wreck the thing. What’s more, the way things poke out of the bottom half of the case makes them easier to pull out.

Overall, there’s a lot to like in this case, and not too much to complain about. However, I do have some nitpicks, such as the fact that the zippers on the outside of the case are functional, but uncomfortable to hold. And when comparing this case to my current favorite large case, the Waxity Travel Case, it comes up short in a few key areas.

Firstly, as mentioned before, it’s made of a less-firm material, meaning it won’t protect its contents quite as well. Also compared to that other case, it’s noticeably larger. However, the major difference that I feel gives Waxity’s case the edge here is that Fintie’s case only stores the Nintendo Switch 2 and its accessories, and will not fit the original Nintendo Switch.

Because of this, even though this case has some nice features like the game card storage flap and my much sought-after mesh zippered pouch, it’s still second to Waxity’s case when it comes to Nintendo Switch 2 cases, in my opinion. However, I could easily see some users deciding otherwise – if you don’t have the original Nintendo Switch, and aren’t as concerned with protection and size, the Fintie Storage Case makes for an excellent storage option for your Nintendo Switch 2, and definitely one of the best cases for the hybrid console that I’ve encountered.

tl;dr – The Fintie Storage Case is a large-size storage case for Nintendo Switch 2 that is an excellent, sturdy, versatile case with room to snugly store a lot of accessories and seemingly tough enough to offer some decent protection. I do have a few nitpicks but overall, if you want a large case, I think this is absolutely worth picking up.
