Note: I have also seen this product sold under the brand name Puregad.

The Fosmon Mouse Grip Pad is a pair of grips for the Nintendo Joy-Con 2 Controllers designed to make play more comfortable and natural when playing in mouse mode. Players drop the Joy-Con 2 Controllers into these grips, making a shape that is intended to be more like a traditional mouse.

I tend to think that the Joy-Con 2 controllers aren’t comfortable to use as mice, and I also see the great potential in having a game controller you can quickly and easily turn into a mouse, so I absolutely see the utility in devices like these. The question is, are these grips any good?

Unlike the Nintendo Switch 2, which has the Joy-Con 2 controllers attaching via magnets, these grips have the controllers drop in place into the grips letting gravity do most of the work of keeping them in place. This seemed to work fine, and I didn’t notice any issues while using them.

When connected to the Joy-Con 2 controllers, these grips leave all of the buttons on the controllers free to access, which I feel is important to note – I’ve seen other similar grips that cover up some of these buttons, which is a problem when some of the Nintendo Switch 2 games that use mouse mode still make use of these buttons while you’re in mouse mode. Here, that’s not an issue.

This grip also doesn’t make the mistake of trying to be symmetrical when neither the Joy-Con 2 controllers nor your hands are identical in a way that would make a symmetrical grip make sense – the left grip has a shorter palm rest on the inner side to ensure that the directional buttons and camera button on the Joy-Con 2 controller nested within are all accessible. This means that these grips have a similar form factor to a traditional mouse, without sacrificing the functions of the Joy-Con 2 controllers to get it.

What’s more, the flat surface on the bottom of the grip is large enough that it’s far more stable than a Joy-Con 2 controller alone, and it has a pass-through hole for the mouse sensor.

The only question this leaves remaining is one of value, and here’s where I’m not so sure about these grips. The current purchase price between $15 and $20 might be pretty good for a fully-fledged controller, but this is a pair of grips without any moving parts, essentially just pieces of plastic (well, with a pair of adjustable wrist straps). As such, it doesn’t seem like an especially great deal by my estimation.

However, despite the price being a bit much, the Fosmon Mouse Grip Pad grips are one of the better mouse grips I’ve found for Nintendo Switch 2, and if you plan on spending a significant amount of time on your Nintendo Switch 2 playing in mouse mode, you might find this worth your while.

tl;dr – The Fosmon Mouse Grip Pad is a pair of Grips for your Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Cons that make them more comfortable to use in mouse mode. I think the price of these is a bit high, but overall I think they do a good job making mouse controls on Nintendo Switch 2 more comfortable.
