Nintendo Switch 2 Reviews: Game Compilations

Here’s the games I have reviewed so far on the Nintendo Switch in this genre, from best to worst. Note: If multiple games have the same score, they will be sorted alphabetically.

I should note that this list does not include Nintendo Switch Online – Nintendo Entertainment System App, Nintendo Switch Online – Super Nintendo Entertainment System App, Nintendo Switch Online – Game Boy App, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack – Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Classics, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack – Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Classics: Mature 17+, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack – Sega Genesis App, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack – Game Boy Advance App, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack – Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics, Capcom Arcade Stadium, and Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium, all of which did not receive a review score because they are not a normal standalone release.

tl;drFortnite’s early days may have been as a Free-to-Play online multiplayer-focused “battle royale”-style Third-Person Shooter, but it has since blossomed into a massive game platform with a wide variety of different game types to enjoy, and just about all of them are fantastic. It’s intimidating, poorly-organized, confusing, and not very user-friendly to newer players, but none of that changes that this is still a truly must-play game, and the Nintendo Switch 2 is a far superior way to play it compared to the original Nintendo Switch.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4Action / Strategy / Tower DefenseB
Included GamesTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4
tl;drTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 follows in the footsteps of 2020’s Remake / Compilation of the first two games by bringing together and modernizing the next pair of games in the Skateboarding franchise in much the same way. This release unfortunately lacks content from the original games and drops the open-ended gameplay of Pro Skater 4. And the graphics and performance on Nintendo Switch 2, while good, are underwhelming. That said, the core gameplay is still excellent, the three new levels are very good, and the addition of custom goals to the create-a-park mode is potentially huge. The result is an uneven and at times disappointing game that is nevertheless overall excellent, and an absolute must-have for Tony Hawk fans on the go.
