The reader reasoned that it might help to calm the bartender if they ordered a DRINK before questioning them. “I’ll have a beer”, the reader said firmly to the bartender, trying not to be too loud so as to avoid drawing attention from the unsavory sorts all around them. Nodding in understanding, the bartender calmly replied, in a way that made it clear this was something he spoke repeatedly in his job, “do you have any ID?”

Suddenly, the reader realized that they left their ID in their other inventory, and made a show of sheepishly patting their pockets and coming up empty.

“No ID?” the bartender responded, appalled, “how’d you get in here? We don’t serve underage folks here!”

The bartender throws you OUT.
