For those who followed eShopperReviews when it was on Reddit, you may wonder what’s different now that we’re at eShopperReviews.com. I thought it would be a good idea to list all the things that have changed in the transition!
.
Game Screens in Reviews
One of the great parts of moving to our own websites is we’re no longer restricted by the way Reddit posts are made. This means we can include game screenshots in reviews!
For the time being, this mostly means including screenshots from Nintendo.com at the top of reviews, but in the future I may also include screengrabs from my own playthroughs as well.
I should note that not all reviews have screens in them – I’m not including screenshots for legacy reviews of Nintendo 3DS and Wii U games. Perhaps I’ll go back in and add these at some later time, but at this point I’m mostly looking forward, not back.

New Index Pages
Previously, I had all Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS, and Wii U games listed in separate indexes on the same page. I decided to split each of these off into their own pages. What’s more, I have decided to split Auto-Runners off into their own page – it didn’t really make sense to keep them on the Platformers page, since not all Auto-Runners are Platformers. I also created a page for Event Game Reviews, reviews where I did something special or different for the sake of the review. Also, while it’s not an entirely new page, Boxing got moved from Sports to Fighting Games, and a new category was added to Fighting Games for Pro Wrestling games, because Boxing and Pro Wrestling both seemed more appropriate in the Fighting Game page than the Sports page (even though yes, you can also consider both to be sports… but you can also consider a bunch of other things sports too, and I have to draw the line somewhere).

New Tables
One of the more noticeable changes to eShopperReviews has to be the new tables we’re using throughout the website. You’ll notice on pages like the Alphabetical Review Indexes and Grade Indexes that I’ve changed the way links work – now the game’s name links to the review, and the link to the eShop page on Nintendo.com has been removed entirely (except on the review page itself). This change was made because I had multiple people telling me the previous way I had the links set up was overly-confusing. Now, it’s clear how to get to the review itself, and if you want to proceed on to the eShop page, you can still do so from the review’s page.
Additionally, I have removed the player count listing from most tables. This was done to make the tables easier to read on mobile devices. The player count listing is still included on tables within game reviews, as well as on the multiplayer-focused indexes such as Best Couch Multiplayer (Co-Op), but otherwise you’ll want to click through to the review itself to see the player count.
Another major change you’ll see on review indexes other than the Alphabetical and Grade indexes is that the tl;dr description is now hidden behind an “accordion”-style clickable element (or “tappable”, if you’re on mobile devices). This was a change that was done to make it easier to scroll through these long lists. You can still see the tl;dr for each game, but now you’re not forced to see all of them as you scroll to the one game you’re looking for.

Getting Up-to-Date
WordPress has a date system, but I should note that the dates for all reviews posted before December 4, 2023 should not be considered to have an accurate date – these dates show the time the review was posted to eShopperReviews.com, not when the review was first written.
Having said that, there is one place where the dates changing is accurate – The Bad Behavior Profiles! On those pages, I have updated many of them to be more up-to-date, with new entries reflecting additional bad behavior by these companies. What’s more, you can expect to see more Bad Behavior Profiles added in the future!

Site-Wide Fixes
As I have moved over content to eShopperReviews.com, I have made countless smaller fixes to broken links, typos, formatting issues, and addressed other issues. If you notice anything on the website that’s still broken, please let me know!
