Rafa’s World + Axolotl + .cat Milk, released on Nintendo Switch in 2023, is a Compilation of the three named games, previously released individually on the Nintendo Switch eShop from 2021-2023.

I have reviewed all of these games. Here is what I thought of each of the games in this collection:

GameGenre# of PlayersGrade
.cat MilkPlatformer1F
tl;dr.cat Milk is a challenging Platformer where players control a cat… trying to get a saucer of milk and return it to their… er, doghouse. This game gives us completely disposable gameplay and level design, saddles it with poor controls, and then has the audacity to try to charge $10 for it. Even more bizarre, the Rafa’s World + Axolotl + .cat Milk bundle that includes this game is only $0.75. With this being the case, absolutely no one should buy this game here, and honestly even if you get that bundle I wouldn’t recommend playing this pointless, bad game.
AxolotlPlatformer1D
tl;drAxolotl is a challenging Platformer where players control a pink elephant, who must get to a watering hole before time runs out. This game plays much like the more popular challenging Platformer Celeste, but suffers due to poor difficulty progression and poorly-designed controls. However, probably this game’s biggest problem is that its $7 price tag is too high, especially when the Rafa’s World + Axolotl + .cat Milk bundle that includes this game is only $0.75. With this being the case, absolutely no one should buy this game here, and those who think they can tolerate its flaws are better getting the bundle.
Rafa’s WorldPlatformer1D+
tl;drRafa’s World is a family-friendly Platformer where players control the titular Rafa as he jumps and punches his way through enemies and a lot of boxes. The gameplay here is seriously marred by poor hit detection. However, probably this game’s biggest problem is that its $10 price tag is too high, especially when the Rafa’s World + Axolotl + .cat Milk bundle that includes this game is only $0.75. With this being the case, absolutely no one should buy this game here, and those who think they can tolerate its flaws are better getting the bundle.

In short, none of these games is particularly good. Rafa’s World probably fares the best of the bunch, and Axolotl has some nice qualities, but issues with controls and hit detection are rampant in these games, and that’s in addition to how uninventive and straightforward these games are overall.

However, overall one of the biggest problems that all three of these games have, one that I pointed to in all three reviews – this Compilation of all three games, at a price of only $0.75, is a much better price than each individual game’s price on their own, with all three games individually priced either $7 or $10. The extreme difference in price here seems inexplicable – I don’t know if this is a mistake, some sort of experiment in spurring sales, or what. But whatever the reason, the result is clear – if you want any of these three games, you should absolutely not get them individually, even on sale – get this bundle instead.

Having said that, none of these games is particularly good. I suppose, at a price for less than $1, this bundle may be worthwhile for players looking for inexpensive Platformers and willing to forgive some of the flaws in these games. And while I can’t exactly give this trio of games a strong recommendation, I suppose at that price, I think there’s a good chance you’ll get your money’s worth, even if there’s nothing here that you’ll find especially noteworthy or memorable.

tl;dr – Rafa’s World + Axolotl + .cat Milk is a Compilation including the three named games, all Platformers, and all pretty sub-par, with control and hit detection issues, as well as a lack of originality. However, what these games lack in quality, they make up for in value, at least in this collection, which sells for a mere $0.75. That’s an absolutely crazy discount since the cheapest of those games sells for $7 on its own. Does that low price mean that these games are any better? No. But it does mean that they’re priced here in a way that makes them more worth their asking price. Just don’t expect anything memorable or even particularly good here.

The bundle price is surely carrying these three hard. An F to a C- jump is very generous on your part.

You’re not wrong. A sub-par Platformer for $10 is a huge NOPE from me, but three sub-par Platformers for under a buck? Eh… still not great, but I can at least see some people feeling they got their money’s worth out of that.
