Review:

Boomshine Plus is a Puzzle game released on PC and mobile devices in 2022 and ported to Nintendo Switch in 2023. In this game, players use a cursor to place an explosion on a screen full of bouncing dots, hoping to create a chain reaction that hits as many dots as possible.

There are some additional nuances, such as glowing green dots that players must hit, and glowing white dots that give players additional explosions to place, but otherwise this is all a simple matter of trying to meet a quota.

The visuals here are just as simple as the gameplay – it’s just a bunch of multicolored circles in front of a black background. And this is backed by a decent but not especially memorable synthesized soundtrack. There’s not much here, but what’s here works fine, I guess.

There’s not really much else to say about Boomshine Plus. In general, I don’t feel like there’s much thought or strategy to the gameplay here, but for $2 this seems like an okay time-waster. Just don’t expect anything especially thrilling or memorable.

tl;dr – Boomshine Plus is a Puzzle game where players place an explosion on a screen full of bouncing dots to create a chain reaction that hits as many dots as possible. For $2 this is an okay time-waster, but there’s not enough depth here to hold your interest for too long.

I was mostly interested in this one because my mom used to play the OG Boomshine on her first tablet. It sounds like things have not evolved much for the series over the years, haha.
