Boost Zero is a Futuristic Racing game released in 2025 on Nintendo Switch. This game makes use of a shield-boost system similar to what’s found in the F-Zero franchise. And I try to keep these opening paragraphs positive or neutral, so I’ll leave it at that.
In still images, Boost Zero looks good. The courses are detailed and fittingly futuristic. Unfortunately, the framerates here are so absolutely atrocious that you won’t be able to appreciate them. I don’t have a way to measure these, but I would wager they’re somewhere in the single-digits.
Combine these extreme low framerates with the game’s extremely fast speeds, and you get something that’s pretty much unplayable. I could go on to complain about the lack of control or the lack of multiplayer, but I don’t think that’s even necessary. If you can’t even play this game due to its technical problems, that should be the start and end of the conversation.
In short, don’t buy Boost Zero, it’s absolute junk.
tl;dr – Boost Zero is a Futuristic Racing game that suffers from some extreme framerate issues that combine with the poor controls and super-fast speeds to make this game virtually unplayable. Do not waste your money on this.
