The Legend of Fireball, released in 2026 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, is an Arcade-style game where players control a young man flinging fireballs at various household objects to destroy them and collect money to upgrade his power to take out larger objects.

The presentation here uses hand-drawn 2D artwork in an anime style, backed by repetitive music that sounds like generic martial arts anime music. Overall this works well enough for the game, but seems pretty unmemorable.

For the gameplay itself, you use the right analog stick to aim your shots, and press A to fire. Objects will gradually be destroyed, leaving cash, which you can then use to upgrade your abilities or take on challenges that will let you target even bigger objects. This is a very “number goes up” sorta’ game, and there’s very little in the way of skill or decision-making involved here.

I suppose in the end there’s some satisfaction to be found in gradually improving your character’s abilities in The Legend of Fireball, but everything here is so basic, repetitive, and lacking any sort of depth or variety that I can’t imagine this game retaining players’ interest for very long. But I suppose if you want a free-to-play time-waster, this will fill that desire for at least a little while.

tl;dr – The Legend of Fireball is a free-to-play Arcade-style game where players play a character throwing fireballs at household objects and gradually building up his skill. There’s very little decision-making or skill involved in playing this game, and while there’s some satisfaction to be gleaned from improving your character’s abilities, this is overall little more than a mediocre time-waster.
