Review:

Arsonist Heaven is an Action-Platformer released in 2022 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. In this game, players take the role of an employee of a corporation hired to use a flamethrower to dispose of dangerous out-of-control mutated monsters created by experiments.

The presentation in this game uses decent but not especially noteworthy 2D pixel art visuals, backed by an oddly placid soundtrack given the tone and goals of the rest of the game. Overall, it works, but doesn’t do much for the game beyond that.

As for the gameplay itself, this game has some pretty major problems. Sluggish sideways movement, extremely overly-fast vertical movement, leaps of faith, damage sponge enemies with no hit stun that move very quickly. All of this makes for an Action-Platformer with highly unsatisfying platforming, highly unsatisfying combat, and with virtually nothing in its favor. I suppose on some basic level Arsonist Heaven functions as a game, but I cannot see any reason why you should play it when there are countless better Action-Platformers on Nintendo Switch.

tl;dr – Arsonist Heaven is an Action-Platformer where players take the role of someone armed with a flamethrower torching dangerous mutated experimental creatures. The platforming in this game is terrible, and the combat is terrible, both in multiple ways, to the point where I have virtually nothing good to say about this game. You have countless better Action-Platformer options on Nintendo Switch, play something else instead.
