Geo IQ World Master is a Trivia game released on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in 2026. Ordinarily, I would include this sort of game in with the Party Game genre, along with other trivia games like Trivial Pursuit Live! and many of the Jackbox games. However, that doesn’t really seem appropriate since there’s no multiplayer mode to be found here. However, since this can help players to memorize a bit of geography, it can be considered an Educational game.

The presentation in Geo IQ World Master is sufficient, but plain and somewhat boring. You have a 2D map of the world with countries outlined and colored in but not labeled, a moving cursor, and a small flag-planting animation when you select a spot, and that’s about it as far as visuals go, with this being backed an upbeat but largely forgettable soundtrack. Overall this works, but completely lacks personality.

For the gameplay, players can select one of four categories that you gradually unlock: Modern Cities, Touristic Destinations, Antique Cities, and Battle Sites. Having done so, you’re presented with the map and given place names you need to point out on the map with a limited amount of time to do so, using either an on-screen cursor with traditional gamepad controls, or using the touchscreen in handheld mode. You get points based on how close your proximity is to the actual location, and each round you must meet a score threshold to progress to the next, more difficult, round.

It’s fairly straightforward, but still a potentially decent setup. Unfortunately, it only takes a few times playing this game before you see repeat prompts – expect to see Paris and Seoul a bunch in the first round of the modern cities category, and Golden Gate Bridge and the Louvre pyramid a lot in round one of the touristic destinations category.

Beyond the limited number of potential places you need to guess, I feel like this game’s biggest flaw is how bare-bones and empty it all is. I already mentioned the lack of multiplayer, there’s a leaderboard but it’s local only – no online leaderboard, there are no options settings so you can adjust the timer or remove it if you want, no ability to zoom in on the map for more accuracy, no images or fun facts about the locations you’re guessing… along with the boring presentation, this game seems to aim to be as bland as possible.

To be clear, Geo IQ World Master is a perfectly functional Trivia game, but it’s one with all the personality of a wooden plank, an extreme lack of options, and a terribly lacking amount of content. While its $5 price tag does help to mitigate this somewhat, I cannot recommend this game when you have countless better options for Trivia games on Nintendo Switch.

tl;dr – Geo IQ World Master is a Trivia game that has players trying to locate cities and other well-known geographical sites on a map of the world. This game works well enough, but is completely lacking any sort of personality, is sorely lacking in content and options, and even with a low $5 price tag it just can’t compete with other Trivia games on Nintendo Switch.
