When it comes to mid-range cases for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, one style that seems to be catching on is the “sling/crossbody” case, meant to be worn across one shoulder halfway like a backpack. In fact, I already reviewed one of these, the PGmoon Sling Crossbody Bag, which even features the same black/orange color scheme. With the two cases being so similar, it’s difficult not to compare them, so I’ll definitely be talking more about PGmoon’s case in a bit. But for now, let’s stick a pin in that and just look at Bemkiru’s case on its own merits.

The body of Bemkiru’s case is made of what seems to be a water-resistant nylon with what appears to be soft microfiber padding inside to protect the contents. the bag has a single double-zippered compartment further segmented inside, and a firm orange braided nylon handle on top for ease of carrying when you don’t want to wear it using the strap.

Speaking of that strap, it’s an adjustable strap made of braided nylon, connected to the top of the bag on one end, with a hard plastic and metal clasp that attaches to either bottom corner via a pair of small orange braided nylon loops on either corner.

Opening up the case to look inside, we see its one interior compartment is separated into two sections. Near the back is a compartment for the Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 console, held in place with a velcro strap. I tested this case with both, and both hold firm when the strap is shut tight. The case is also supposedly compatible with a Nintendo Switch Lite, and while I was unable to test this, I do not doubt it should work fine – this part of the case doesn’t seem to depend on the device it’s holding fitting exactly.

On the other side of the flap divider, we have slots to store 8 Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 game cartridges, a mesh pouch for holding cables or other small items, and enough space left over on this side that I expect you could store a Nintendo Switch dock or Nintendo Switch 2 dock and one Pro Controller or a Joy-Con holder with an extra pair of Joy-Con controllers, if you have everything snug inside.

So let’s start out with the first big question: is this a good case? I think so, yes. It’s not the smallest Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 case out there, nor will it provide the most protection, but it’s a decent halfway point, and it has a decent amount of storage for a few extra accessories. Ah, but you remember that pin I stuck in earlier? Time to take that out and compare Bemkiru’s case against PGmoon’s.

In terms of price, the two are pretty comparable, with PGmoon’s case costing just a few bucks more. The same thing when it comes to size – both cases are roughly the same there too. No, the real difference we see between these two is when it comes to features, and sadly Bemkiru’s case loses pretty much across-the-board here.

Features on PGmoon’s case that are not present in Bemkiru’s case: a breathable mesh backing, a faux leather front, a passthrough port for a charging cable or wired headphones, three separate zippered compartments for quick and easy access, with one mesh storage bag in one, and a pair of smaller bags in another. Pretty much the only feature Bemkiru’s bag seems to have over PGmoon’s is that PGmoon’s bag only has six slots for game cartridges, not eight. However, I think this is extremely minor compared to the other things I’ve mentioned.

And that puts me in a bit of an awkward position, because as I’ve said just a moment ago, the Bemkiru Sling Crossbody Case is a good mid-size carrying case for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, and if you’re looking for this style of case, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in what you get here. However, I also can’t really recommend this case when the PGmoon Sling Crossbody Bag does the same thing this does, but better, for just a few bucks more. As a result, if you’re looking at this case, my best recommendation to you is to consider PGmoon’s case instead.

tl;dr – The Bemkiru Sling Crossbody Case is a wearable carrying case for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 that offers a good amount of space to carry your hybrid console and its accessories. Unfortunately, this is similar in style and price to the PGmoon Sling Crossbody Bag which has more features and is overall nicer. As a result, even though this is a good case, I can’t recommend it when you could be getting something better instead.
