Today, I’m adding more games to the list of games that have seen improvements when played on Nintendo Switch 2. Let’s have a look!

Alien: Isolation
Genre: First-Person Stealth / Horror Game
Players: 1

Review:
It is an extraordinarily rare feat for a Nintendo Switch version of a multiplatform game to be deemed the graphically-superior version, yet Alien: Isolation somehow managed it thanks to improved anti-aliasing and a lack of other modern releases of the game, with even the well-respected folks at Digital Foundry essentially saying as much in their look at this version of the game. As such, it leads to the question of how much this game is improved on the Nintendo Switch 2, or if it is improved at all. Let’s have a look and see.
In short, playing this game on Nintendo Switch doesn’t really improve much at all. There’s no improvements to resolution as far as I can tell, and while the framerates might be slightly better, that may just be my eyes playing tricks on me.
No, the most noteworthy change here is going to be the loading times. On Nintendo Switch, it took me 42 seconds to load this game to the title screen and another 51 seconds to load up a game save. On Nintendo Switch 2, those times dropped to 37 seconds and 25 seconds. An improvement, but not one so major that it’s truly going to make a massive difference playing this game on Nintendo Switch 2.
I still think Alien: Isolation is one of the greatest Horror games ever made, and it’s still brilliant on Nintendo Switch 2, but with only the most minimal of improvements over the Nintendo Switch version of the game. That still makes this the de facto best console version of Alien: Isolation, but only by default.
tl;dr – Alien: Isolation is a port of the 2014 First-Person Horror game with heavy Stealth elements following Ellen Ripley’s daughter as she investigates her mother’s disappearance. This version adds graphical improvements that actually make it look better than the other console versions, and this is on top of an already-impressive game with a stunning presentation and some great cat-and-mouse gameplay. If you’re a fan of Horror with a Nintendo Switch (or Nintendo Switch 2), consider this game an absolute must-have.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
Genre: Graphic Adventure / Action
Players: 1

Review:
I still maintain that Hellblade is one of the most stunning audiovisual masterpieces on Nintendo Switch, one that managed the transition from other game platforms remarkably well. So of course I have to wonder if this game is improved in any way on Nintendo Switch 2. Let’s have a look!
I won’t drag this out. The short answer is no, Hellblade on Nintendo Switch 2 is graphically identical to Hellblade on Nintendo Switch, as far as I can tell, at least until we get a version specifically made for Nintendo Switch 2. The main difference here appears to be the loading times: On Nintendo Switch, it took me 40 seconds to load to the title screen and another 35 seconds to load up a game save. On Nintendo Switch 2, those times dropped down to 35 seconds and 10 seconds.
Is it better? Sure. But this definitely isn’t significantly different from playing the game on Nintendo Switch. Even so, it still looks great despite that it’s working within the limitations of the Nintendo Switch’s hardware, and I still highly recommend it.
tl;dr – Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is an absolutely fantastic Graphic Adventure that delivers an incredibly immersive experience as players are put in the shoes of someone with severe mental illness on a journey into a hellish fantasy domain. The Switch version isn’t quite as impressive as what’s on other platforms, but it still looks fantastic – one of the best-looking games on the Switch, though it doesn’t receive any visual improvement on Nintendo Switch 2. And while the action sequences aren’t quite up to par with the rest of the game, on the whole this is a superb experience that is a truly must-play game.
