Review:

Sayonara Wild Hearts + Lorelei and the Laser Eyes Bundle, released in 2026 on Nintendo Switch, is a Compilation of the two named games, both separately released on Nintendo Switch in 2019 and 2024, respectively.

I have previously reviewed both games. Here is what I thought about the included games:

GameGenre# of PlayersScore
Sayonara Wild HeartsArcade1A-
tl;drSayonara Wild Hearts is a cool, stylish Arcade-style game that ties together multiple elements into simple but fast-paced gameplay that repeatedly finds new ways to surprise the player, all while delivering a stellar, memorable presentation. It has some issues with wild fluctuations in difficulty level, and it’s over far too soon, but this is a unique experience well worth having on the Switch.
Lorelei and the Laser EyesGraphic Adventure / Puzzle1B
tl;drLorelei and the Laser Eyes is a Graphic Adventure game with an extremely strong focus on its Puzzle gameplay, with some really excellent puzzle design that will thrill seasoned puzzle-solvers looking for something challenging and original, but that might cause more casual puzzlers to balk. Add to this an absolutely amazing visual presentation and less-than-amazing controls, and you have something of a mixed bag that some players will absolutely love while others will hate it. Still, I do think the positives outweigh the negatives here, and the game’s target audience will likely be truly delighted with this game.

Of the two games, I think Sayonara Wild Hearts is the better of the two. It’s far more accessible, has a killer soundtrack, and is just a delightful all-around experience. Lorelei and the Laser Eyes is going to be more divisive – it is unquestionably a much deeper, more thoughtful game that will absolutely thrill die-hard Puzzle fanatics, but will leave more casual players perplexed and frustrated. Curiously, despite both games coming from the same developer, they don’t share much in common, other than a distinct sense of style.

In terms of value, buying the two games separately would cost a combined $38, making this bundle’s price tag, just over $34, a discount, but not a very big one. Looking at sale prices, the individual games have dropped down as low as a combined $19, while the bundle has dropped to just over $17. Again, it’s a savings, but not much of one.

In the end, this is a good bundle with two very different games, with a price that offers a few bucks to buy both at the same time. It’s not the most enticing offer, but it’s something, at least. If you know or suspect you’ll want both of these games, this bundle is definitely worth picking up, but it’s not such a great deal that I think anyone is likely to get excited.

tl;dr – Sayonara Wild Hearts + Lorelei and the Laser Eyes Bundle is a Compilation containing the two named games, the former being a wonderful highly-accessible Arcade-style game, and the latter being a more divisive contemplative Puzzle and Graphic Adventure game. This bundle of the two games does offer a small discount over buying both games separately, but not so much that it makes this a must-have.

Review:

There is technically no Nintendo Switch 2 release of this bundle, though both individual games have free Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrades, so upgrading this bundle is a simple matter of downloading both free Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrades after getting the Nintendo Switch version of the bundle.

I have previously reviewed both games (as well as their Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrades). Here is what I thought about the included games:

I won’t repeat what I say in my review of the Nintendo Switch version of this bundle as it pertains to the quality of the games or the value present in the price, as they’re pretty much identical. However, I will take a moment to discuss the Nintendo Switch 2 upgrades.

For both games, the Nintendo.com page claims the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade brings the game’s framerate and resolution up to 120FPS/1440p or 60FPS/4K in docked mode, and 120FPS/1080p in handheld mode, and for both games I didn’t notice any significant difference in visual quality or performance. I also couldn’t find any option to swap between graphics or performance modes in either game, despite it being advertised.

The one change that both games did have that I could notice was improved loading times. For Sayonara Wild Hearts, on Nintendo Switch, it took 22 seconds to load to the opening intro, and another 5 seconds to load an individual level. On Nintendo Switch 2, those times are cut to 9 seconds and 2 seconds. And for Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, on Nintendo Switch, it took 32 seconds to load to the opening logos, and another 3 seconds to load an individual level. On Nintendo Switch 2, those times are cut to 11 seconds and 2 seconds. For both games, this is a pretty good improvement.

The one other change here is specifically for Sayonara Wild Hearts, which adds a new “Remix Arcade” mode, which appears to just be a continuous play of the entire game all in one go rather than selecting individual levels. It’s a nice addition, but it’s not anything truly impactful, and I don’t see why the Nintendo Switch 2 was necessary for it.

Overall, I’m not going to turn down a free upgrade, but the Nintendo Switch 2 upgrades for both of these games is fairly minimal, and in turn taking it all together collectively this bundle isn’t going to be too drastically different on Nintendo Switch 2 compared to Nintendo Switch. In other words, whether or not you get this bundle really won’t depend on which version of Nintendo’s hardware you’ll be playing it on.

tl;dr – Sayonara Wild Hearts + Lorelei and the Laser Eyes Bundle is a Compilation containing the two named games, the former being a wonderful highly-accessible Arcade-style game, and the latter being a more divisive contemplative Puzzle and Graphic Adventure game. This bundle of the two games does offer a small discount over buying both games separately, but not so much that it makes this a must-have.
