Ducks in Disguise Giveaway!

The generous folks at Dinomore Games have kindly offered to give eShopperReviews readers two gift codes for their latest “Hidden-Object”-style Puzzle game, Ducks in Disguise! I reviewed this game not long ago, and found it to be a pretty good entry in the genre, so if it interests you, I encourage you to join in!

I’ve decided to give out these review codes via random drawing, but to make things interesting, I’ll be asking entrants to answer a question:

What do you look for in a “Hidden-Object”-style Puzzle game?

You can talk about features you enjoy in this style of game, those that you consider a must-have, or you can talk about features that you would like to see in games of this sort in the future. As long as it fits the general gist of the question, it will qualify.

Here are the rules:

  1. Sign up for a free Gravatar account (or use a pre-existing Gravatar or WordPress account), and be sure to include a valid working E-Mail address when signing up so we can contact you if needed. Alternately, create a temporary post using an E-Mail (I can see the E-Mail, and it doesn’t show it to others). I just need a way to contact you back if you win.
  2. Write a comment at the bottom of this page before midnight (PST) on Friday, September 18th, 2026.
  3. Entrants must be in either the US or EU region, and must state their region in their comment.
  4. Your comment must answer the question I asked above in bold, about what you look for in “Hidden Object”-style Puzzle games.
  5. No personal attacks, no hate speech, no illegal content, no personally-identifying information, and nothing that would be considered “non-work-safe”.
  6. Only one valid entry per person. Repeat entries will not be counted.
  7. After midnight (PST) on Friday, September 18th, 2026, two winners will be randomly selected from all valid contest entries. These winners will be contacted via E-Mail with their eShop code for the game.

Thanks in advance to all who participate! I look forward to seeing all of your responses!

My previous attempt at that type of puzzle felt significantly more frustrating. I found the difficulty scaling in the later levels quite inconsistent.

I’m from the US and I’m usually looking for hidden object games that work well for children. I have a 5 year old daughter who loves I Spy and loved watching me play Hidden Folks even if it was a bit too overwhelming for her to play herself. Bonus points when the theme is around animals. Every time you’ve reviewed a cat themed one, my interest gets piqued.

In case you have one spare, I do like hidden object games 🙂 But also I look into some connecting lore, like in “A Castle Full Of Cats”. So it’s not all work. And I prefer not to spend hours on finding the last missing piece, so it should be either just a few hidden objects (like in Tiny Lands), or a good hint system. Did not like Hidden Through Time for this reason. (I’m in EU, but it’s fine if it’s too late / I don’t get it for any reason.)
