Here’s the best games I have reviewed so far on the Nintendo Switch 2 in each price range, from best to worst. Note: If multiple games have the same score, they will be sorted alphabetically.

| Game | Genre | Grade |
|---|---|---|
| Fortnite | Compilation / Open-World Third-Person Shooter | A |
tl;drFortnite’s early days may have been as a Free-to-Play online multiplayer-focused “battle royale”-style Third-Person Shooter, but it has since blossomed into a massive game platform with a wide variety of different game types to enjoy, and just about all of them are fantastic. It’s intimidating, poorly-organized, confusing, and not very user-friendly to newer players, but none of that changes that this is still a truly must-play game, and the Nintendo Switch 2 is a far superior way to play it compared to the original Nintendo Switch. | ||
| Apex Legends | First-Person Shooter | A- |
tl;drApex Legends is an online-focused free-to-play battle royale-style First Person Shooter where there’s an emphasis on coordinating with your 2- or 3-person team to survive. This is a game with a steep learning curve, so if you haven’t already played the game elsewhere, you’re likely to get killed extremely quickly. That said, the Nintendo Switch 2 release of this game is an absolutely massive improvement over the Nintendo Switch version, with excellent graphics and performance, albeit at a cost of a massive 78.5GB file size. However, if you’re looking for a solid First-Person Shooter that doesn’t have to be a hit to your wallet, this is an excellent choice. | ||
| Asphalt Legends – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition | Arcade Racing | B+ |
tl;drAsphalt Legends is a Free-To-Play Arcade Racer that’s bogged down by all sorts of nasty microtransactions, which is a shame because the game underneath all of that is one of the best racing games on the Switch, and now one that looks even better on Nintendo Switch 2. I’d argue that the microtransactions can be worked around, and since the game is free to play, you should definitely at least give it a try – on balance, I’d argue that the game is definitely worth the hassle. | ||
| Warframe | Third-Person Action | B+ |
tl;drWarframe is a Free-To-Play Third-Person Action game that actually does the “Free-To-Play” part right, and provides a good multiplayer online experience for up to four players, albeit one that’s disorienting for newcomers. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game is a massive improvement over the release on Nintendo Switch, with improved graphics and performance. This is a great way to play a solid game! | ||

| Game | Genre | Grade |
|---|---|---|
| Fast Fusion | Futuristic Racing | A |
tl;drFast Fusion is a Futuristic Racing game that has an absolutely phenomenal presentation, truly excellent gameplay that improves upon an already great series, and a shockingly low $15 price tag that makes this game an absolute steal. It’s slim on content and the online multiplayer seems limited, but even with these flaws I think this is absolutely a game that should be in your Nintendo Switch 2 library. | ||
| Ball x Pit – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition | Arcade / 2-Stick Shooter / Roguelike / Simulation | A- |
tl;drBall x Pit is a game that blends a wide variety of disparate genres, such as 2-Stick Shooter, Arcade, Roguelike, and Management Simulation, resulting in something that is wildly unique, offering a lot of depth, yet still highly-accessible and easy to pick up. Consider this a must-have if you’re craving originality, and something still worth checking out even if you just like some of the genres I named. | ||
| Sayonara Wild Hearts – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition | Arcade | A- |
tl;drSayonara Wild Hearts is a cool, stylish Arcade-style game that ties together multiple elements into simple but fast-paced gameplay that repeatedly finds new ways to surprise the player, all while delivering a stellar, memorable presentation. It has some issues with wild fluctuations in difficulty level, and it’s over far too soon, but this is a unique experience well worth having on the Switch 2. | ||

| Game | Genre | Grade |
|---|---|---|
| MIO: Memories in Orbit | Metroidvania | A |
tl;drMIO: Memories in Orbit is a Metroidvania where players take the role of a robot trying to restore a massive failing spacecraft. This is a phenomenal entry in the genre combining elements of some of the best Metroidvania games to come before it, with a beautiful presentation, a great sense of exploration, challenging combat, and exceptional Platforming. Do not miss it. | ||
| Core Keeper – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition | Open-World Top-Down Action-RPG / Survival Adventure | A- |
tl;drCore Keeper is an Open-World Top-Down Action-RPG with Survival Adventure elements that has players digging through a vast underground world, exploring and discovering new treasures, mysteries, and dangers. For players who enjoy games like Minecraft and Terraria, this should be considered a must-have, and fans of Action-RPGs in general should give this a look too – its well-crafted and varied gameplay and its wonderful presentation make for something truly special. | ||
| Hollow Knight: Silksong – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition | Metroidvania | A- |
tl;drHollow Knight: Silksong is the long-awaited sequel to the original Hollow Knight, and it is a fine successor, with an absolutely beautiful presentation and a fascinating new world to explore. Unfortunately, it still has many of the problems the first game had, including a punishing difficulty level and frustrating design choices. Still, even with these issues, this is a game not to be missed for any fan in the genre who isn’t opposed to a challenge. | ||
| Mina the Hollower – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition | Top-Down Action-RPG | A- |
tl;drMina the Hollower is a Top-Down Action-RPG with an aesthetic that evokes the classic Game Boy Zelda games, and combines elements of Zelda, “Soulslike” games, and Castlevania, all while being something entirely different and unique in its own right. This is a crowded, messy game, seemingly designed to frustrate the player at times, and surprisingly difficult. Thankfully there’s a developer-created “mods” menu that can assist in finding your preferred difficulty level, but even after doing so, there’s still a lot of frustrating design here. However, there’s also a ton of wonderful secrets, clever puzzles, and a world stuffed to the brim with wonderful, bizarre, creative things. Despite the frustrations and flaws, this game is full of so many amazing surprises that I recommend players to bear with it because there’s a wealth of joy to be found buried within too. | ||
